How does hypnosis work?

Our minds work on two levels – the conscious and the unconscious.  We make decisions, think and act with our conscious mind.  The unconscious mind controls our habits.  In the relaxed state, known as hypnosis, we can communicate directly with the unconscious mind.  This is why it is so quick and easy to change habits of a lifetime with hypnosis. * (Disclaimer, results may vary)

Will hypnosis work for me?

Generally speaking, every normal person is “hypnotizable”.  That is, people with an IQ of at least 70, and no severe mental disorders.  Therefore, virtually anyone can achieve successful results using hypnosis. * (Disclaimer, results may vary)

How will I know if I am hypnotized?

Most people cannot tell the difference between the hypnotized and the waking states.  Some people feel relaxed and lethargic others feel lightness.  One thing that people do notice is an inexplicable change in their daily behaviors.

Is hypnosis safe?

Hypnosis is completely safe.  You are aware and in control at every moment and can terminate the session at any time.  Hypnosis is not sleep, nor can you get “stuck” in a state of hypnosis.  You cannot be made to do something against your will!  Hypnosis is a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable experience.

How does hypnosis help me kick the smoking habit?

Because smoking is a habit, it is controlled by the unconscious mind.  Since hypnosis and NLP work directly with the unconscious, this is the only method that makes sense! * (Disclaimer, results may vary)

What is hypnosis?

Our minds work on two levels conscious and subconscious. Hypnosis is simply a relaxed mind state where your subconscious mind is able to receive and release information that can help you let go of unhealthy patterns, thoughts, and behaviors.

During hypnosis, you are fully awake, in control, and aware of your surroundings. Hypnosis can be used for everything from stress relief, to pain management and anxiety. However, at SHIFT we specialize in weight management and smoking cessation. * Disclaimer: results may vary.

What can I expect during my smoking cessation session?

Sessions typically take 60-90 minutes, and start with 30-60 minutes of tactical coaching, where Rita will explore the triggers and unconscious beliefs that have kept you smoking. These unconscious beliefs are often the reason many people have had trouble stopping smoking in the past, despite maybe wanting or trying to quit. This is followed by a short, relaxing hypnosis session where she will make suggestions to your subconscious mind that reinforce the new ideas and concepts she’s taught you.
